How fast are Optus NBN plans?
Each month, our broadband provider performance program records the NBN speeds of Australian internet service providers (ISPs). On average, between January and June 2018, Optus scored 66% overall for speed. iiNet came first with 75%, TPG second with 74%, and Telstra third with 72%.

How do Optus mobile plans compare?
In 2017 we collected data on mobile phone service providers, both for plans including a phone and for SIM-only (if you already have a phone).

Are Optus customers happy?
Our 2017 ISP satisfaction survey asked close to 2000 CHOICE members what they thought of their provider – 341 of whom were Optus subscribers. In total, we collected enough data to publish on seven ISPs: Telstra, Optus, iiNet, TPG, Internode, iPrimus and Dodo.
Respondents gave their thoughts on connection reliability, speed, value for money, technical support, customer support, bill clarity and how easy it was to set up a new plan.
Optus came equal-third with iPrimus. We collected individual scores for connection reliability, speeed, value for money, technical support, customer support, bill clarity and ease of setup. Across all categories, Optus scored close to the average – either just above, below or equal to.
