Hedge trimmers are handy for keeping wayward hedges in line, and most of the models we've tested will keep your garden trim and tidy. "Gap-toothed" may not be ideal for your smile, but it's good for your hedge trimmer – our testing found that the wider the gap between the "teeth" of the hedge trimmer, the better the performance. We test them on a range of hedge types and materials, from leafy to woody. See our buying guide for more advice on what to look for.
