I'm an investigative journalist at CHOICE, where I delve into consumer issues and attempt to provide clarity.
In my first year here, I've focused on the funeral industry and uncovered a system that makes it hard for people to take funeral matters into their own hands, widespread price gouging and misleading fees, pitfalls of paying in advance, and trends disrupting the status quo.
Previously, I was an online news all-rounder at The Sydney Morning Herald.
I also wrote pieces for The Guardian and other publications as a student, which earned a Walkley student journalist of the year award.
Becoming a journalist was a way to satisfy my curiosity, to burrow down and dredge up what those with power prefer to keep hidden.
These days I get to do this and become a savvy consumer in the process – and hopefully help you, our readers, be one too.
