We only recommend models which score 80% or over, meaning that they pass all our safety tests, but may have some very minor failures such as with information labels. For some tests no models score high enough to be recommended. In this case, look for the models that at least pass the key safety tests as they'll have only minor safety failures.
Based on tests to the Australian standard for portable cots, AS/NZS 2195:2010. Any supplied accessories such as bassinets and change tables are also assessed and factored into the score. The lower the score, the more significant the safety failures found. See the bad points for each model for details of any failures.
Whether the model passed the most important safety tests of the Australian Standard, AS/NZS 2195, such as having breathable mesh on all sides, and having no suffocation or strangulation hazards. Some models that pass the key tests still have some minor failures and therefore aren't fully recommended, but are still worth considering.
