Consumer group CHOICE has tested over 40 stain remover sprays and powder soakers to determine which ones are most effective at removing common stains from your clothes.
CHOICE tests stain removers against 10 common types of stains, including grass, make-up, olive oil, and sweat.
“In this year’s spray testing, we had two products tie for first place – Aldi Di-San Pro Ultra Degreaser, and Sard Super Power Stain Remover Toughest Stains, both receiving a score of 78%. Both stain removers performed well at removing sweat, makeup, grass, and tomato stains,” says CHOICE household expert, Chris Barnes.
“In our powder test, Sard topped the tests with Sard Super Power Stain Remover Toughest Stains taking first place with a score of 76%. Sard Whiter & Brighter Stain Remover Major Stain Types placed second, receiving a score of 75%,” says Barnes.
“If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, we recommend trying an Aldi Di-San product. The Aldi Di-San stain remover sprays come in at just 28 cents per 100mL, less than a sixth of the cost of the top-scoring Sard spray product. The Aldi Di-San powder soaker is also a decent option. It costs a fifth of the price of the top-scoring Sard powder and performed well on grass, mud, tomato, and baby food stains,” says Barnes.
