- • Plump sultanas and currants. Bright white cross, and a slight scent of spice.
• Appearance was good, cross was even. Interesting aroma, like the chemical in the flour. Not much hint of spice. Fruit percentage was good.
• Toasted bun was a little better for aroma. Texture and flavour was average.
• Pleasant appearance and glaze, but shape and cross a little uneven. Aftertaste slightly sour.
• Aroma and taste better when toasted but no spiciness of traditional hot cross buns; good toasted crunch well-balanced with soft interior.
