03.NT and QLD

Northern Territory

  • The Northern Territory Government is providing rebates of up to $50 for certain water saving products and up to $500 for eligible water saving plumbing services in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. See www.nt.gov.au.
  • An Indoor Plumbing Rebate of up to $100 is available to households in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek for services performed by a GreenPlumber; fix leaking taps, fix leaking toilet, install flow regulator/aerators to bathroom or kitchen taps, install low flow shower rose (3-star or better) and retrofit a dual flush toilet suite (replace older model with 4 star model or better; pedestal and cistern).   • A Outdoor Plumbing Rebate of up to $500 is available to households in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek for the following services performed by a GreenPlumber; plumbing services associated with connecting a rainwater tank to a household hot water system, toilet, washing machine or air-conditioner. Minimum tank size eligibility is 1000 litres; plumbing services associated with installing an NT Government approved greywater diversion device. Greywater diversion devices must comply with NT Government guidelines and must be installed by a licensed plumber.See www.nt.gov.au.

Queensland

  • Consumers can claim rebates on new rainwater tanks (up to $1150). You must have the deposit paid between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009 and be installed by 30 June 2009. The rebate application must be lodged by 30 September 2009. Only one rainwater tank rebate applies to each residential property. See www.brisbane.qld.gov.au.
  • There is a ClimateSmart Home service available of up to $50 value. During your ClimateSmart Home Service, a licensed electrician will visit your home, install a wireless energy monitor for you to keep and conduct an energy audit of your home. Where suitable, the electrician will supply and install a free water and energy efficient showerhead, and supply and install up to 15 free energy efficient light globes. You'll also receive a customised Energy and Water Efficiency Plan for your home and access to My ClimateSmart Home, a customised online resource for more energy and water savings.   • A solar water heater rebate of up to $400 exists for the first 1500 residents of Brisbane to apply. It must be an existing home, replacing an existing gas or electric system with a solar hot water system or heat pump. The replacement solar hot water system must be of a standard that qualifies for a minimum of 20 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). All systems must be installed by a licensed plumber and must be inspected by Council’s Plumbing Services Group, and eligible hot water systems are gas, electric solar and heat pumps.
