15.CHOICE Award 2011 winner
After several years of consistently high performance, Miele takes out a CHOICE Award in 2011.
Miele has performed towards the top of our washing machine tests over the past couple of years, so we felt it was time recognise that they consistently delivering a good product. We’ve tested many Miele models over the past few years, and they always deliver good results in the 6kg-7kg category.
Picking the CHOICE award winner
CHOICE tests washing machines constantly and rigorously. We tend to be quite critical so our subscribers get the best possible indication of what to buy. To decide the winner, we used the scores from our test results and our most recent reliability survey, taking into account how often brands were recommended in our What to Buy section.
Our test results account for a range of subscriber expectations when buying a washing machine, including rinse, gentleness, spin and water efficiency, and of course most importantly, dirt removal. The reliability survey from over several thousand of our subscribers details the percentage of subscribers that have had no problems with their brand of washing machine over the previous 12 months.
The What to buy section is based on which machines perform so well as to earn our recommendation.
Miele came out just ahead of Asko, with Bosch at third place. Miele has maintained an average score of about 72% in our washer tables over the past 18 months, and our most recent survey shows an excellent score of 91% from respondents.
