Fuel type
The pizza ovens we tested are either wood-fired, gas, or electric. Electric pizza ovens plug into a powerpoint and are good to go; gas pizza ovens need a qualified plumber to plumb it in if it's natural gas, or to be connected to a gas cylinder like a BBQ; wood-fired pizza ovens either take wood pellets or wood logs and charcoal.

Portable
Is the pizza oven portable?
Temperature gauge
Some pizza ovens have a temperature gauge to let you know the temperature inside when you're cooking. However, note that these gauges may not always be accurate.
Pizza stone
Does the pizza oven come with a pizza stone? A pizza stone conducts and holds heat and keeps the oven temperature stable when the pizza is added. It also helps with evenness of cooking and getting the base crispy.
