Ease of use is broken into two categories: tester assessment (40%) and expert panel assessment (60%). Tester assessment is made up of recovery options (30%), screen adjustment (30%), manuals (20%) and sound quality (20%). Expert panel assessment is made up of design (40%), style (40%) and keyboard and mouse use (20%).

We compare each computer's performance using a combination of tests that reflect everyday usage. Included in the testing are comparisons using cross-platform benchmarking software that allows us to compare desktops with different operating systems – in this case Windows 10 and macOS X Sierra.
