What is the CHOICE Expert Rating

CHOICE Expert rating

This is the product's overall performance score, based on key tests conducted by our industry experts in the CHOICE labs.

Good points

• Lightweight.

Bad points

• Serious safety failures: 1. The bottom fabric is raised at the edges, meaning the mattress is not flat enough to be a safe sleeping surface. 2. The mattress is inflatable, which is prohibited as it allows for too much variation (if the mattress is not blown up sufficiently, for example) and can make the mattress not firm enough. In fact, even when fully inflated we found the mattress was not firm enough, creating a possible suffocation risk if a child rolls onto its side or front. 3. The cot is not stable enough; it can tilt too easily under a small amount of force.
• Minor safety failure: The fabric sides can be easily unzipped along the top or sides, creating openings that could trap a child’s head or even let the child leave the cot and move around unsupervised. Always keep the sides fully zipped up when the cot's in use, unless you are using the cot as a play area and are directly supervising the child.
• Very awkward and fiddly to secure and release the mattress from the bottom of the cot.
• Hard to attach and detach the legs.
