Electric shavers offer a convenient alternative to shaving with a razor. With two types to choose from – foil (with oscillating blades) and rotary (with rotating heads) – and many features to boot, they're becoming more and more appealing for grooming. Our review of shavers covers major brands for electric shavers: Braun, Panasonic and Philips. We also tested some Remington models which have since been discontinued (select the "related products" filter to see them).

Our buying guide will tell you what features to look out for, and how we test explains our testing rigour.

Our expert tester conducted in-house testing in the CHOICE labs. We also put each shaver through a user trial to determine ease of use. Our results can tell you which shavers:

  • have the best battery life and charge time
  • leave your skin feeling the best
  • are the easiest to use.
Our Recommended list will help you see quickly which models come out on top.

Shopping links on the CHOICE website

CHOICE is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to helping consumers. Clicking a link will take you to a retailer's website to shop. While we make money if you buy through some retailer links, this doesn't influence any of our rankings. 100% of the money we make goes straight back into our non profit mission. We're currently testing this service and will consider providing more shopping links in the future. Tell us what you think.
