As the head of policy and government relations at CHOICE, my job is a combination of all the things I love doing – policy, politics, consumer affairs, campaigning and even a bit of media on the side.
I work across all of our policy areas, but personally specialise in people's rights under the Australian Consumer Law, general consumer affairs, data and technology, and any legal issues that come up in our work. I'm also passionate about making sure our policy work is of the very highest quality, and that we work with governments, consumer affairs bodies and regulators across Australia as effectively as possible.
I trusted and used CHOICE's reviews long before I applied for a job here, and I enjoy working with a variety of people across the organisation. The unexpected perks of the job, like scone day when the ovens are being tested, are also pretty great.
Before I joined CHOICE, I worked as a policy director for the Consumer Affairs Minister, and as a policy advisor to the NSW Attorney General. A qualified lawyer, I have also worked in corporate law firms and the community legal sector.
I currently represent CHOICE on the ACCC's Consumer Consultative Committee and on the board of the Consumer's Federation of Australia.
