Of the recommended models, all perform well as mobile phones allowing you to carry out the normal day to day tasks such as making a call, sending and receiving SMS and keeping your contacts up to date. However some performed better than others in certain areas.

If SMS is important to you, the Samsung and LG could be a strong option. The Samsung performs reasonably well as a music player. However it is the only model in our recommended list that lacks both WiFi connectivity and an integrated GPS.
