01.Mazda 3 passenger vehicles recall

A recall has been issued on Mazda3 (BK10*2) passenger vehicles produced from 8 January 2008 to 19 February 2009. In a worst case scenario, the windscreen wipers will not work and visibility may be reduced.

VIN Range: JM0BK10*200395304 to JM0BK10*200469128

What are the defects?

The ground terminal of the windscreen wiper motor may have been inadvertently bent during the assembly of the windscreen wiper motor. This may cause a loss of the electrical ground connection, which could result in the windscreen wiper motor not functioning.

What should consumers do?

Mazda Australia will contact all affected owners by mail. Owners should contact their preferred Mazda Dealer to arrange an appointment to have an additional ground harness installed on their vehicle's windscreen wiper motor.
