The Memorial Lecture

A tireless campaigner and WA politician, Ruby Hutchinson was the founder of the Australian Consumer Association - the organisation which grew into today's CHOICE.

Every year on the eve of World Consumer Rights Day a speaker is invited to deliver the Ruby Hutchinson Memorial Lecture in an effort to keep the spirit of Ruby alive in Australian consumer affairs.

The lecture is a CHOICE and ACCC co-production. Notable previous speakers include former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke, US consumer rights icon Ralph Nader, and more recently Ross Gittins and Susan Ryan AO.
