Consumer group CHOICE has tested 50 different dishwashing liquids to reveal which ones will keep your dishes sparkling clean and the ones that will leave you relying on elbow grease.
"This year Aldi wiped the floor with its competitors, taking out the three top spots in our test," says CHOICE Director of Reviews and Testing, Matthew Steen.
"Aldi Tandil Ultra Power Soak and Tandil Ultra Quick Dry were clear winners, both scoring an impressive 90%. Tandil Ultra Odour Neutralising was the next best product scoring 85%," says Steen.
"Aldi's dishwashing liquids are also great bargains at the checkout at just 40 cents per 100ml. That's around a quarter of the price of other top-scoring detergents from well-known brands such as Morning Fresh and Palmolive," says Steen.
"These three Aldi detergents are streets ahead in terms of performance and price, which is a win for both your dishes and your pocket."
However, the similarly-named Aldi Tandil Ultra Bacterial was equal-last in our test, scoring just 60%. The following dishwashing liquids all share last place in our testing, with a CHOICE Expert Rating of just 60%:

"Our tests uncovered some wild variation. A number of well-known brands, including Aldi, had products towards both the top and bottom of the leaderboard. This goes to show that you should never assume that if one product cleans well, similar ones from the same brand will deliver the same results," says Steen.
