Homemaker Nutritional drink blender recall

Kmart's entry in the single-serve blender market, the Homemaker Nutritional drink blender (model SA-RB-13409) has just been recalled. The blender is poorly sealed and its internal components are made of unsuitable material. The result is that liquid from the bottle could get into the blender's motor and potentially cause a fire.

About single-serve blenders

Single-serve blenders are all the rage right now. That's why we recently reviewed 15 models including the Nutribullet, Nutri Ninja and Nutri Infusion. We also assessed their health claims.

With so many companies rushing to get a share of the single-serve blender market, it's unfortunately no surprise that some products can turn out to be poorly designed or manufactured. With blenders – as with most products – a high price tag is no guarantee of good performance, and cheap models like the Homemaker are not always bargains.
