01.Saucepans
Test results for 13 stainless steel and non-stick saucepans priced from $90 to $269
Saucepans can be used for practically all types of cooking. You can get very small, half-litre ones right up to large pans that hold 5L or more. For this test we bought saucepans with a 20 cm diameter but of varying height, ranging in volume from 1.9 L to 4.4 L. All can be bought individually, some also as part of a set.
We tested them for performance (heat-up time, heat distribution and sticking), ease of use and the non-stick ones also for surface durability (which isn’t really an issue with stainless steel cookware).
Please note: this information was current as of July 2009 but is still a useful guide to today's market.

Spending a little more on a non-stick frypan can save you money in the long run, but even an expensive frypan can be worthless if it's not looked after.
