In an age of time-poor cooking, many gadgets on the market are designed to make the process quicker and less daunting. Some look flashy but provide little practical assistance. You also don’t need every gadget out there; but teamed with some basic cooking skills the right tools can make cooking simple and enjoyable.
CHOICE members often ask us to report on the essential tools they need for their kitchens. With more than 25 years of cooking experience, we turned to the expertise of our Home Economist, Fiona Mair, to put come common kitchen tools to the test and shed some light on the necessary – and not-so-necessary – kitchen gadgets.
We have what to look for as well as tips and tricks for nine different kitchen gadgets:
