01.Aldi Lumina P90D23EP-G5 microwavePrice:
This is another Aldi special buy – a product available exclusively through Aldi stores for a very limited amount of time.
It's on sale from Saturday, 29 June.
• Wattage: 900W
• Volume: 23L
• External dimensions: 48w x 28h x 38d, cm
• Cavity dimensions 34w x 22h x 32d, cm
• Turntable diameter: 27cm
• Venting space required: 20cm top, 10cm back, 5cm sides
Its performance is excellent, achieving a very high 96% - scoring perfectly for broccoli, defrosting mince and a whole chicken, and a relatively high 85% for reheating a quiche.
It’s one of the best microwaves for performance that we’ve tested – and by far one of the cheapest.
Ease of use
It only scores 62% for ease of use because visibility through the door is poor, and you will need to refer to the manual at least initially to understand how to select functions and power levels. You’ll also need some prior knowledge on setting defrosting or cooking weights and times, as there are no guidelines in the manual.
The display is fairly bright and clear, and the controls are labelled with words.
Its white exterior is easy to clean, but dirt may accumulate around controls. The interior is also easy to clean, with only a few crevices to trap dirt.
