03.Health and medicine apps
There are hundreds of health and medicine apps for iOS and Android platforms. Here are some that we believe provide useful information from reputable sources.
Better Health Channel
This app has health and medical information about conditions and diseases, their symptoms, treatment options, management and care. It also has first aid, medical and health agencies contact information and, for Victorians, additional health services location info. (iOS only; free)
First aid by St John Ambulance Australia

This app won’t teach you first aid, but does gives basic information for novices and is a good refresher for those who’ve done a first aid course. It may be useful to have on hand in an emergency situation. (iOS only; $4.49)
Medicines List

This app by the National Prescribing Service allows you to keep a list of medicines you're taking, with scheduling and reminder alarms. The list can be printed or emailed as a PDF from the app. (iOS only; free)
WebMD
The WebMD app provides a symptom checker as well as information on a large range of conditions, medicines and first aid. (iOS and Android; free)
