According to Canon, some EOS 650D digital SLR cameras have a manufacturing fault that may mean the camera grip turns white and has the potential to cause an allergic reaction in some people.

In July 2012 Canon said there were no cameras affected in Australia, but they have updated that advice on the 3rd August to include some cameras sold in Australia.
