01.Nad's Brazilian and Bikini Wax recall

SI&D (Aust) Pty Ltd has recalled Nad's Brazilian and Bikini Wax hair removal hard wax (microwavable) products with batch numbers 10642 and 10644 (printed on side of jar), sold in Woolworths Supermarkets from July 20 to August 5, 2011.

What are the hazards?

There is the potential to cause sparking/fire when jar (with radio-frequency identification tag (RF tag) on base) is heated in the microwave.

What are the defects?

The RF tag (usually located inside the carton) has been stuck to the base of the jar. As the RF tags contain metal parts, they could pose a potential risk of sparking/fire when heated in microwave as per the instructions.

What sould consumers do?

Consumers should either remove the RF tag from the base of the jar before placing into microwave OR return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement.
