What are the hazards?

The fuel tank may leak from cracks at the spot weld(s) on the side mount tabs due to stress caused by excessive clearance between the fuel tank and the frame-mounted rubber damper. Fuel leakage in the presence of a spark or flame may cause a fire or explosion, possibly resulting in injury or death.

What should consumers do?

Kawasaki will write to owners of affected vehicles. Owners are advised to return the affected vehicles to their authorised Kawasaki dealer who will perform the necessary repairs free of charge.
