Coles is recalling a number of its homebrand Easter egg products after traces of tree nuts - undeclared allergens - were discovered in the products. The products, which were sold in Coles and BI-LO stores, are:
  • Coles Brand 30 Easter Eggs Milk Chocolate Hollow Eggs (510g bag, all best before dates up to and including 31 Jan 2015)
  • Coles Brand Milk Chocolate Easter Bag – Contains Milk Chocolate Bunny & Hollow Eggs (300g bag, all best before dates up to and including 31 Jan 2015)
  • Coles Brand Hollow Milk Chocolate Easter Eggs, 204g 12 pack carton (all best before dates up to and including 31 Jan 2015)

The chocolates are labelled as peanut-free and Coles says testing has confirmed there are no traces of peanuts in any of the products, meaning they are safe for those without tree nut allergies to consume. Coles also says it has tested other products manufactured by the same supplier and none have been found to contain peanuts or tree nuts.

Customers who have a tree nut allergy or intolerance should not use these products but return them to the nearest Coles or BI-LO store for a full refund.
