Then copy in the name of your bank’s CEO along with CHOICE's suggested text from below or, write your own message.

ANZ - Mr Michael Smith, Chief Executive Officer, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group.

National Australia Bank - Mr Cameron Clyne, Group Chief Executive Officer, National Australia Bank.

CHOICE’S SUGGESTED TEXT:

Dear [NAME OF YOUR BANK’S CEO HERE]

Like many Australians, I have been encouraged by the Government to shop around and compare my bank with the rest of the market. I am concerned there are too many barriers currently inhibiting my attempts to switch banks and get a better deal.

If you are confident in the products and services offered by your bank, then I ask that you take immediate steps to make it easier for me and other consumers to switch banks and move our money should we choose to do so.

You can do this right now by working with the Government and the rest of your sector to create a single-form, one-step process, allowing me to move my transaction account to the bank of my choice, including all direct debits and credits.

I am one of many who believe that how I use my money is my choice – and if you are not willing to take these basic actions, I ask that you explain why not.

As one of the biggest banks, with a major share of the market, your position on this issue is critical.

Kind regards,

[YOUR NAME HERE]
